Make Room for Peace

This week, Pastor Camden sits down with Pastor Neil Stangeland to talk about what it really means to make room for peace. Instead of being the absence of stress or noise, peace is something God gives when we slow down enough to hear His voice. Camden and Neil reflect on how our distractions, busyness, and constant hurry can pull us away from the stillness where God meets us, much like Martha in Luke 10. If life feels demanding, noisy, or overwhelming, this episode invites you to pause and let the peace of Christ settle into your heart. We encourage you to listen, then take a few minutes to work through the reflection questions. And if this conversation encourages you, consider sharing it with someone who needs God’s peace this Advent season.

Listener Guide — Week 2: Make Room for Peace

Listen + Reflect

As you listen to the episode, think about these:

  • What stood out to you most about how peace is described in the conversation?

  • How does slowing down help you experience God’s peace?

  • Where do you see yourself in the story of Mary and Martha (Luke 10:40–42)?

  • What are the “distractions” in your life that make it hard to hear God’s voice?

  • How does knowing that peace comes from God—not your circumstances—change the way you think about your day?

Personal Reflection Questions

  • Where in your life are you most tempted to look for peace in temporary fixes rather than in God?

  • What habits, patterns, or stresses keep your mind too hurried to rest in God’s presence?

  • How could you intentionally make space this week to receive God’s peace—through silence, Scripture, prayer, or simply slowing down?

  • What is one area of your life where you need to submit control to God and trust Him fully?

  • How might God be inviting you to reorient your mind and heart toward Him, even in the middle of a busy day?

Family or Group Discussion

If you’re listening with others, try these prompts:

  • When do you feel the most at peace in your daily life? When do you feel the least?

  • What does it look like for your family or group to “make room” for peace together this Advent season?

  • How can you help each other slow down and listen for God’s voice?

  • What’s one simple change you could make as a household or group to cultivate more peace this week?

Challenge of the Week

Choose one moment each day to pause—before work, during a task, or while making coffee—and invite God to speak. Release whatever is distracting you and make room for His peace to settle into your heart and mind.
