Never Change Devotional - Day 3

“I will trust in you, you always prove that you are faithful”

Introduction: Do you trust God? Trust is something that is easier said than done. Sometimes it’s easy to sing or talk about trusting God rather than actually giving our lives to God. It is in full surrender of our lives that we place full trust in God. It’s a moment in which you recognize and believe that the one who created you is with you. It’s a moment in life where you remind yourself that He is God and you are not.

Scripture: Isaiah 40.28-31

28 Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

Psalms 9.7-10

7 The LORD reigns forever;
    he has established his throne for judgment.
8 He rules the world in righteousness
    and judges the peoples with equity.
9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed,
    a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,
    for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Devotional: How long has it been since you have really surrendered everything to God? We have conditioned ourselves to pick and choose what parts of our lives we give to God; we pretend to trust God with some things in our lives, but not others. This is not trust. A life lived this way is like spending your life swimming in the shallow end or only seeing the mountains in a photograph. Most of us never experience the full power of God’s love, grace, and direction simply because we didn’t fully trust Him. God never changes. He always proves that He is faithful. You can surrender.

Take a few minutes to journal and pray. What are the places in your life you haven’t surrendered to God?
