Bethany First Church of the Nazarene is seeking a part-time Accounts Payable Clerk and Assistant to Director Property Management. The Accounts Payable Clerk and Assistant to Director Property Management supports BFC’s mission of becoming more like Jesus and helping others come to know Him by managing expenses, supplies, records, and internal deposits in coordination with the Comptroller and Property Management team. This role assists with budgeting, reporting, and special projects while maintaining accurate records, managing purchasing systems, and supporting ministry partners with expense tracking.

Specific Areas of Responsibility

2.  Provides support for Comptroller and employees through expense, supply and other business office functions. 

This position provides assistance in the business office staff by maintaining and storage of records and is responsible for management and ordering of supplies, and management of the Bethany First Church of the Nazarene Amazon Business Account. They provide accurate information in areas of responsibility.  Uses organizational skill to store important records and information on computer and files. Manage supplies and the expense for them in order to help use funds wisely.  Provides accurate information for Tulakes Neighborhood Ministries and Tulakes Clinic on grant balances and expenses.

3. Provides information and assist Facilities Director with reporting and projects.

Responsible for maintaining spreadsheets of expenditures for property management budgets and utilities usage and expense.  Performs other duties as requested by Director of Property Management, including but not limited to special projects.

4. Serves on the BFC business office team

Qualifications and Position Requirements:

  • Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable spirit, and a healthy personal and family life.

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field; has basic administrative skills; exhibits knowledge of general business office procedures.  Has basic skills in data systems, Excel and Word documents. Works well with and has ability to supervise individuals.

  • Committed to continual learning and growth.

  • Self-motivated leader; highly organized and detailed with the ability to prioritize many different simultaneous tasks.

  • Great communications skills needed for working with staff and managing Reception area.

  • Self-starter, decision-maker and capable of implementing projects with little to no supervision. 

  • Demonstrates the ability to be understanding and patient in order to handle the different needs that arise in the organization in the business office as well as the front desk reception area.

  • Is in agreement with Church of the Nazarene Statement of Faith.
