Do you believe He is able?
Over the past few weeks I have been asking that of myself a lot. Do I really trust and believe that God is able to more than I could ever think or imagine? When thinking about this being reflected in scripture I immediately go to the Epistles of Ephesians.
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us," Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)
Not sure about you but when I read that it sounds pretty easy to think, "of course I trust that God is able." Applying it to the way I live day to day is another thing. If we really believe what is stated in His word why worry?
The thing we often miss about this is what our role is. We think that our role is a "hands off" one so we can fully allow God to do show His will. Is that really our role? Take another look at the scripture found in Ephesians....
Not sure if the same part jumps out to you but for me it is the last part of the scripture that jumps up and slaps me right in the face. "According to HIS power that is at work within us." You mean God works with us? YES! We are called to be His disciples and to do the work of the Kingdom. Our role IS NOT a "hands off" one. We are in collaboration with God. We work with Him and he works through us.
Now think about that passage one more time. No, really think about it, let it sink in deep. God is at work in and through you. You are His disciple and He can and will do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. HE IS ABLE!
As you know music speaks to me greatly. (duh?!) There is a song that speaks to this very thing that has really challenged me to be extreme in the way I trust God. I've linked a video of it below and I pray that it blesses you today as you trust that GOD IS ABLE.
