We are so excited to welcome you to the 5th Grade Ministry here at Bethany First.  The 5th Grade year has been designed to prepare them for Mid-High by going to off-site retreats, activities such as Freaky Fridays, and an end-of-the-year Mission Trip!  But in all of the fun, we will always point them to the Father and remind them of His blessings and His love for us.

Our theme is “Stand Firm ~ It’s a Jungle Out There!”  1 Peter 5:8-9 says, “Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, standing firm in the faith……..”  We want our kids to know that the devil is on the prowl for them but also that everywhere the devil is, Jesus is there also to help them fight and remain faithful!  It’s a jungle out there, but God is bigger than any jungle!

Verb Small Groups

PreTeen small groups meet every Sunday on the second floor in room 210.  The concept is to involve the student in small groups, to encourage discussion, prayer and to help every child feel that they are a part of the total group.  We use WordAction PreTeen curriculum “Faith Connection” from Nazarene Publishing House.  Each group has an adult sponsor who will lead your child through the year.  This is a great way to get to know each of the students and to minister to their needs.

VERB Freaky Fridays
Freaky Fridays are monthly activities students may enjoy and invite a friend to!  Reservations are required and the cost for all Freaky Fridays varies, but does not exceed $10.00 per child.  To make reservations, email Cindy Cannon.

Most activities will be scheduled between the hours of 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.  We will meet at the North entrance for our Freaky Friday activities, unless otherwise noted.
