We arrived in Johannesburg (Joberg) right on time. After going through customs we waited for the other members of our party to arrive. David Cooper, from Nazarene World Mission, will be our facilitator for this trip. A close friend of mine from Kansas City, named Dan Rexroth, is also joining us to represent his church.
Joberg is a very modern city of several million people. It is hard to believe this is Africa. It could very well be San Diego. The climate is very comfortable in the 70’s (not like the 30’s I left).
We had dinner last night with the Africa Regional Finance Director and his wife, Fred and Donna Otto. They served for several years in Swaziland and were a great source of information.
It is now 10:30 p.m. OKC time – 6:30 a.m. South Africa time. I have been up since around 3:00 a.m. with some serious jetlag. We are flying to Manzini, Swaziland this morning hoping to be there in time for a worship service. Swaziland is much more of a developing country, and I suspect will be much more rural in nature.
I am praying for you this morning and wish I could be with you.
