I am sitting in the Will Rogers Airport preparing to board United flight #5314 to leave for our fact-finding trip to Swaziland. Four of us are going together. David Alexander, Bob Miller, and I will represent BFC. Loren Gresham will represent SNU. We will fly to Washington D.C., then on to Johannesburg, South Africa. It will be 9,264 miles as the crow flies. We will refuel in Dakar, Senegal and then on to Jo-burg. It's hard to believe that we will be there on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. their time. South Africa is eight hours ahead of our time in OKC. It is Spring, heading into Summer, for Africa.
We will stay the night in Jo-burg, and then catch an early 45 minute flight to Swaziland on Sunday morning. Our plan is to worship at several Swazi churches Sunday morning, and then meet with several of the Swazi leaders on Sunday afternoon. We will walk on the same ground that a young Nazarene student from a small holiness college called Peniel Bible College (later to become Bethany Nazarene College) walked nearly 100 years ago. His name was Harmon Schmelzenbach. His ministry presence there would change the spiritual destiny of Swaziland forever. It is our hope that the ministry partnership of BFC and SNU in the years ahead will continue to reap a great Kingdom harvest there.
My plan is to call both of our BFC morning worship services from Swaziland and give a live update on what we are experiencing.
You can help us pray for several things. Safe travel, Spirit-guided discernment, and divine appointments. I will keep you posted on this blog as often as I can.
Grace and peace,
Pastor David
