Building a Better Bethany

Bethany First Church works along side the Bethany Community Foundation to impact our community.

The Bethany Community Foundation has a vision of a community in which people are equipped and inspired to build loving, redemptive relationships with our neighbors by addressing their spiritual, medical, social (education, recreation, citizenship, etc.) and economic needs resulting in a community that:

  • Is economically viable
  • Attracts, fosters and retains indigenous leadership
  • Is connected to the systems of the larger city and society
  • Has spiritual and moral health and influence
  • Protects its most vulnerable residents
  • Has economic diversity in its housing
  • Exhibits a strong alliance within the faith community in achieving the above goals.

After-School Program
Many children in our local neighborhoods come home from school to an empty house. The After-School Program provides a safe, loving environment for kids to play, do home-work, receive tutoring and play sports. Local law enforcement has stated that this program has helped reduce crime in the area.

Habitat for Humanity Project
The Bethany Community Foundation has partnering with Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity to build Bethany's first Habitat Home. This worth- while project enables families who would not be able to afford a house to acquire a home of their own.
